UK visitors to Seiko’s stand at Baselworld would undergo the annual frustration of gazing fondly in its vitrines dedicated to Grand Seiko for many years, the mechanically-powered pinnacle of the Japanese watchmaker’s business. Since when fake watch fans of all stripes have quietly marveled at its timeless appeal, the pain was finally assuaged in 2010, when the replica Seiko released its hero line in the UK.
Currently, it will be starting its first standalone London boutique this summer with the news, which the cheap replica Grand Seiko has launched a special edition of its Spring Drive with an eight-day power reserve, launched at Baselworld this year. 
The new piece recreates the night skies above Seiko’s Micro Artists Studio in Shiohiri, central Japan, using a process that combines both plating and painting. The deep black dial with its startling stardust effect is housed in a rose gold case measuring 37mm in diameter and comes fitted with a Crocodile strap with a matching 18K rose gold buckle and three-fold clasp.
The Spring Drive itself can be noticed through the sapphire case back, where the outline of Mount Fuji can be discerned in the milling of the one-piece bridge, and polished rubies and blue-steeled screws evoke the heavens above Shiojiri. Also visible is the eight-day power reserve indicator.
The Spring Drive manually-wound replica movement is based on the foundation of all mechanical watch technology, a mainspring, but uses an entirely new system for time regulation that delivers the equivalent to +/-.5 seconds per day and provides glide-motion hands, a traditional hallmark of all true mechanical timepieces.
